Steven M. Mezrow has gained a reputation as one of the most tenacious and aggressive trial attorneys in Philadelphia. Defense attorneys, jurors, and even judges have referred to him as “a Pitbull”. With more than 35 years of trial experience, Steve has tried hundreds of cases with more than 30 jury trials with verdicts or settlements that exceed $1,000,000. Distinguishing him from most other attorneys in the region are numerous multi-million-dollar jury verdicts, including a $10,000,000 verdict that he and Michael Pansini obtained.
After graduating from the Villanova School of Law in 1985, Steve attended the prestigious Academy of Advocacy where he received advanced jury trial training. He has been recognized by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel as “Nation Top One Percent” and has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for more than ten years.
Steve attributes his unique legal training to his success in trying a variety of cases throughout his career including personal injury cases, commercial litigation cases, fraud cases, breach of contract cases, bad faith cases, malpractice cases, and construction cases. He is most proud of the privilege of working for the Honorable Arlin M. Adams, past President Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Over his 35 years in practice, Steve has represented thousands of injured individuals, in addition to corporations, businesses, insurance companies, and real estate developers.
When asked what it takes to be a top litigator, Steve responds, “Preparation, preparation, preparation, and knowing the facts of the case better than anyone else in the courtroom.”
His practice areas include brain injuries, spine injuries, amputations, negligent security, construction accidents, premises liability, bad faith, malpractice, and other personal injury matters.
Steve lives in Lower Merion Township with his wife, Abby, his sons Kyle and Brett, and his dog Mia. When Steve is not working, his passion is sailing with his family on the Chesapeake Bay. He is an avid sailor who has completed the rigorous requirements of the U.S. Coast Guard to be a licensed Captain. When not sailing, he and his family enjoy skiing and camping.
